A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §33-4-22, relating to requiring payment for health care services.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:


ARTICLE 4. GENERAL PROVISIONS.

§33-4-22. Payment for services collaborative relationship is not required. 

An insurance company, managed care organization or the Public Employees Insurance Agency may not require a physician assistance or advanced practice registered nurse to participate in a collaborative agreement in order to obtain payment for his or her services.

 

NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to prevent entities providing insurance for requiring an advanced practice registered nurse or physician assistant to participate in a collaborative relationship to obtain payment for services.
